Small Utility Routing Switchers...
The Manzanita and Sierra Families are small routing switchers offering
composite, component, pulse, and wideband functionality. These time-tested
routing switchers have been the first choice for broadcast studios,
systems integrators, post-production houses, and military applications.
We have thousands of Manzanitas in place still providing flawless performance
today. The Manzanita & Sierra Family of routing switchers are CE
& FCC complaint. The routers use the SVS Sierra Control System that
uses a binary parallel-serial network to interconnect local and remote
control panels, and to manage outputs and levels. The serial portion
of the system allows for controlling video and audio levels, AFV, or
breakaway.

Manzanita
Family
Manzanitas are compact 1RU switchers that provide the same
high performance video and audio signal processing as our larger
routing switchers. Manzanita routing switchers consist of compact, 1RU
4x4 up to 32x1 frames. They are available in standard or wideband
component video, analog composite video, audio follow video , and
video-only matrix systems. A wide variety of Manzanita control options,
including local and remote control, are optional making Manzanita
extremely versatile for utility routing. The Manzanitas share a modular
design that makes servicing and troubleshooting easy. All of their
active circuitry is on a single circuit board, which means a lower cost
to you. For over fifteen years, our Manzanita routers have been the
first choice for broadcast studios, hotels, post-production houses, and
even nuclear submarines.
Sierra Family
The Sierra Family is the next step up in both size and
functionality from the 1RU Manzanitas. This family consists of 8, 12,
and 16 input analog routing switchers in a variety of composite video
only, stereo audio, and audio-follow-video configurations. The Sierra
Family of routing switchers ranges from an 8x4 video-plus-stereo audio
to a 16x16 video-only routing switcher. And like many Sierra Video
Systems products, the Sierra are built with our trusted modular design
approach to offer exceptional flexibility. Our 3RU 803351 frame, for
example, can be configured in 10 different ways. Please feel free to
contact our sales department or your local dealer for configuration
help and selection assistance.
Sierra
Control System
For our smaller routers in the Manzanita and Sierra Families (including
Shasta 88D & 161D), the Sierra control system features a selection
of remote control panels that can be daisy-chained to enable control
of outputs or levels. The serial portion of the Sierra control system
allows for controlling video and audio levels, AFV, or breakaway.
