Fujifilm X-T10 Mirrorless Digital Camera Now Available – See Features, Specs, Price and Where to Buy
Fujifilm recently released their latest mirrorless digital camera – the Fujifilm X-T10. The name sounds familiar right? That’s because the X-T10 is the predecessor, or rather the “smaller brother” of the previous X-T1. I wouldn’t say that the X-T10 is better than the X-T1, but it’s a trimmed down version of the X-T10. Of course the newer X-T10 has its plus points as well. For starters, it has a smaller and lighter body and it’s (significantly) cheaper than the X-T1. Let’s get to know more about the new Fujifilm X-T10 and find out if this is the right mirrorless camera for you.
The Fujifilm X-T10 Mirrorless Digital Camera
The Fujifilm X-T10 Mirrorless digital camera is the latest camera from the company. It’s not actually something better, bigger or more feature rich. But it’s actually a trimmed down version of its bigger brother, the X-T1. However, it doesn’t mean that the X-T10 is an inferior mirrorless camera. Despite having lesser feature compared to its big brother, it still is a very capable camera and it has some advantages over the larger X-T10 as well.
Let’s talk about the major features of this new mirrorless camera first. The Fujifilm X-T10 is built with the same 16.3 megapixels APS-C X-Trans CMOS II Sensor EXR Processor II, just like the X-T1 has. Basically image quality is more or less comparable with the X-T1. It has 49 AutoFocus points and is rated to have an AF speed of 0.06 seconds. Meanwhile, it’s capable of shooting 8 frames per second, with 0.005 shutter time lag and a shooting interval of 0.5 seconds. It has a minimum of 30 second shutter speed and a maximum of 1/4000, or 1/32000 in electronic shutter mode. Just like the X-T1, it has an ISO sensitivity of 200-6400 with an extended sensitivity from 100 up to 51,200.
However unlike the X-T1, the Fujifilm X-T10’s body is not weather sealed. But it is smaller and lighter at 4.7″ x 3.3″ x 1.6″ and weighs 381 grams. Its OLED viewfinder is also smaller at 0.39 with a magnification of 0.62x. The LCD display is 3-inches in size and can be tilted as well, but it has a lesser 920K dots compared to the 1040K dots of the X-T1. The top and lower portion of the X-T10’s body is made out of magnesium and it has a pop-up flash that is discretely hidden right in front of the hot shoe. Unfortunately, it doesn’t feature flash sync port.
In terms of video capture, the Fujifilm X-T10 is capable of recording full HD 1080p videos at 60fps with a bit rate of 36Mbps. Frame rate can be adjusted to 50fps, 30fps, 25fps and 24fps as well. You can also do manual focus during video recording, which is a great feature specially if you want full control when recording videos. The X-T10 mirrorless camera supports SD, SDHC and SDXC cards for storage, but it only supports UHS-I.
Other features of the X-T10 includes:
- New Natural Live View with Preview Picture Effect;
- Digital Split Image and Focus Highlight Peaking;
- Ultra-fast Real Time Viewfinder;
- Eye Detection AF to automatically detect and focus on human eyes;
- ‘Classic Chrome’ and ten other film simulation modes with eight Advanced Filter functions;
- Interval timer shooting for time lapse photography with intervals of 1 second to 24 hours and up to 999 frames;
- And many more.
