Panasonic Lumix DMC-GX8 Mirrorless Micro Four Thirds Camera Released
Panasonic recently released their latest mirrorless camera, the Panasonic Lumix DMC-GX8 featuring a 20 megapixel sensor, micro four thirds system, Venus Engine image processor and many more. The Lumix DMC-GX8 is the first Micro Four Thirds camera to have a 20 megapixels sensor, and features a Dual Image Stabilization technology (sensor-shift IS and lens-shift IS) for reducing shakes effectively. The update Venus Engine image processor allows the new Panasonic GX8 to record not only Full HD 1080p videos, but can capture videos at 4K UHD resolution as well. It features up to ISO 25,600 and can shoot images up to 8 fps. And let’s not forget, this new Mirrorless Micro Four Thirds digital camera is also dust-proof and splash-proof.
Panasonic Lumix DMC-GX8 Mirrorless Micro Four Thirds Digital Camera
The new Panasonic Lumix DMC-GX8 Mirrorless Camera is a compact, splash-proof and dust-proof camera, jam-packed with (advanced) features that many are looking for in a small micro four thirds camera. The new DMC-GX8 sports a new 20.3-megapixel Digital Live MOS sensor paired with the Venus Engine image processor boosting the camera’s performance with a quad-core CPU. Its Sensitivity ranges from ISO 100 up to 25,600 and can shoot up to 8fps with AF-S, 6fps with AF-C and 5.5fps AF-S (live view), or bump it up to 10fps with the electronic shutter.
It also features a Dual Image Stabilization, combining sensor-shift image stabilization technology with the lens-based image stabilization, to capture clearer and shaper images. However the Dual I.S. will only work if you use a compatible Lumix lenses with O.I.S. The Lumix DMC-GX8 has a high shutter speed of up to 1/8000 second great for fast-moving objects. The shutter speed can be bumped up to 1/16000 second with the electronic shutter to reduce washouts under strong sunlight. Aside from the new 20.3 megapixel sensor, the new Panasonic GX8 is capable of capturing 4K Ultra HD videos (3840×2160 resolution) at 30fps. It also comes with a feature called Capture That Moment that can extract photos from the 4K video at 8 megapixel resolution.
The new Panasonic DMC-GX8 features a large OLED Live View Finder with a resolution of 2,360K-dot. The Optical View Finder is tiltable and can be paired with an optional eyecup for enhanced comfort. The OLED viewfinder is paired with a 1040K-dot rear monitor that can be swiveled or tilted depending on your preference. In terms of connectivity options, the Panasonic GX8 features a built-in WiFi connectivity with NFC (Near Field Communication).
The list of features doesn’t end here. Check out the videos and the specifications table below for the complete list of features and capabilities of this new mirrorless camera.
